The main thrust of the restoration and repair on this project included replacement of many of the steel shelf angles. Corrosion and under-sizing of the old steel lead to displacement and cracking of the face brick. These conditions were corrected in the reconstruction and the repairs are hardly noticeable. Additionally, parapet walls were rebuilt around the building, most notably at the glass atrium, where sheet metal flashing was added as a thru wall flashing for the brick and stepped counter flashing for the glass system.
